Top of the table AFC Blackpool come to Valerie Park this Saturday in what could be a defining moment of the season.

Thirteen points ahead of the Reds having played two games more, and six points ahead of second placed Runcorn Town, the visitors have seen their promotion challenge checked in the last two games. A draw at home to Holker Old Boys that ended a run of eleven consecutive wins was followed last Saturday by a 3-2 defeat away to Chadderton. That was only AFC Blackpool’ second league defeat of the season; the other coming when goals from Steven Jones and Aaron Stafford ensured the Reds took all three points from the Mechanics Ground.

Having also knocked them out of the FA Vase back in November, AFC Liverpool will be looking to make it a hat-trick of wins against the visitors this season. With all clubs having practically half a season still to play, games will be coming thick and fast in the remaining weeks. Three points tomorrow afternoon would set the Reds on the right track for their final run in.
