AFC Liverpool 5 Oldham Town 0 - now with photos
Double goalscorer Ian Sheridan led AFC Liverpool into a five goal thrashing of promotion rivals Oldham Town.
Sheridan scored early on to open the account, and a quick second from Ian Johnson put the Reds in control within the first ten minutes, which is how it stayed until the half time break despite some good AFC chances, and thanks to a fine save from Reds keeper Terry McCormick.
Dean Thurston kept us his record of scoring in every league game this term with a classic poacher’s goal after some good work by Martin Crowder. Crowder, playing on the left wing today, hit the bar himself after more wing wizardry.
Substitute Andy McCoy made a quick impact on the game setting up striker Dave Eaton for AFC’s fourth of the afternoon.
Then an outstanding individual goal from Sheridan finished the rout with one minute to go before time.
Final Score: AFC Liverpool 5 Oldham Town 0
