AFC Liverpool edge out Darwen FC

AFC Liverpool left Darwen FC victorious today following a 2-1 win in a tightly contested game.

Both teams struggled to find their passing game throughout with the season taking its toll on the pitch, however Andy Olsen made the most of two efforts to bring the three points back to Merseyside and maintain AFC Liverpool’s pole position in the league.

Whilst Darwen took the lead early on in the first half, Olsen equalised following an AFC Liverpool with a fine header, hitting the crossbar before finding the net.

The first half ended 1-1, but the reds were leading soon after the break, Andy Olsen again capitalising to slot home.

Darwen pushed forward to find the equaliser but the AFC Liverpool rear-guard stood resolute and were worthy winners at the final whistle.

AFC Liverpool’s next game sees a trip to Runcorn Town for a friendly on Saturday March 14th, before a crunch derby on Wednesday 18th March at Valerie Park, Prescot against fellow promotion chasers Bootle FC.
