AFC Liverpool supports ‘Kick It Out’ campaign
Saturday saw the start of the ‘One Game, One Community’ ‘Kick It Out’ campaign, which aims to eliminate Racism from modern football.
All English clubs took part, including AFC Liverpool.
Vice Chairman Paul McCoombs told us “We were very keen to support the campaign as, although we do not believe that we have a racism problem at our club, we wanted to bring an awareness to our community that it does exist in football and society, manifesting itself in discrimination and inequality. Every football club, no matter how large or small, should have this responsibility to declare ‘one game, one community.’
It was never a plan to hold a big event, however we felt we had to make some effort; therefore we decided to sign up to the campaign and purchase some resource items; stickers for every fan, official and player to wear, and a banner that would spell out the message that we can display at all our matches.”
