Following last week’s cup fun at the seaside, AFC Liverpool return to league action this Saturday with Ashton Town the visitors to Valerie Park.

The visitors come into this match with only one win from their last ten league games, 3-1 at home against Atherton Collieries, but have only lost three of those games. One of those draws was a goalless result away to current league leaders Wigan Robin Park, while another was a dour 0-0 at home to the Reds, a game which easily faded from memory.

Ashton Town have lost on both their previous visits to Valerie Park, conceding four goals on both occasions and a similar result on Saturday will see the Reds maintain their promotion push, in a race which could see any one of half a dozen clubs claim the top two spots.
