FA Vase Third Round Draw
AFC Liverpool have been drawn to face current holders Whitley Bay in the third round of the FA Vase.
The Reds will travel to the north east on Saturday 4th December to take on the team that have won the competition in both of the previous two seasons. In 2009 they beat Glossop North End 2-0 and last season, thrashed Wroxham 6-1, adding to their victory in 2002.
Whitley Bay ply their trade in the Northern League Division 1, which effectively means that they play in a division equivalent to the Vodkat Premier, and the currently lie fifth in the table with nine wins and six draws from seventeen games.
With home gates averaging around the 400 mark, and a reputation for a great atmosphere, it will be a tough test for Mooresy and his boys and a large vocal support from Reds’ fans will add to what looks to be cracking cup tie.
Coaches will be heading to the game, with arrangements currently being made and details will be on the website as soon as they are available.
