Free Men’s Health Course
AFC Liverpool, in association with Liverpool FC, The Premier League, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool NHS, are offering a free course on health for men aged 18 and over who live in the Liverpool area.
Beginning 1st February and lasting for 8 weeks, the course consists of a 2 hour session held each Tuesday evening. Each session will focus on a different aspect of health, including food and nutrition, sexual and mental health and cancer and alcohol awareness. Also provided are a health check, a personal health plan, massage and gym use.
You are not committed to attend every session, though the more sessions you participate in, the more beneficial it will be for you.
This course is only open to men at the moment, though we are trying to get funding to set up a similar course for women.
The course will be held at BNENC in Breckfield Road North, L5 4QT.
The link below is to a BBC interview with Mark Halsey, the Premier League referee who recovered from throat cancer, as he discusses the initiative at a match between Liverpool and Everton fans who attended a previous course.
So if you’re male aged 18 and over living in the Liverpool area and would like to come along to burn off those Christmas pounds or just want to learn about your body and get in shape please put contact Gary Beggs at
