Reds Rocked By Thurston Injury

AFC Liverpool top scorer Dean Thurston is ruled out for up to 8 weeks following his injury in Saturday’s match against Daisy Hill.

Thurston, who had scored in every league game this season and is the league’s top scorer, has suffered a medial collateral ligament strain.

This means he will be out of action for up to 8 weeks. Yet he revealed it could have been worse.

He said: “I had a check up on my knee in hospital Monday and there was no cruciate damage, which could have meant out for the season.

“Instead it’s just a medial collateral ligament strain, which is up to 8 weeks out depending on how bad the strain is.”

However he promised AFC Liverpool fans that he would be doing his best to get back as soon as possible.

“Bill the physio has sorted out a programme and tests for me to do, which will hopefully let me get back a lot quicker”, he said.
